Book Appointments

We offer patients the opportunity to book appointments over the phone with our staff or online with Zocdoc.com. Whichever is most convienient for you.


Payments

We accept most major insurance carriers, checks, cash and/or Care Credit. To verify your insurance coverage please contact our office. Have you Insurance card on hand to provide us with the company name, contact, policy or member ID, and any other needed information.

What to expect at your first visit.

  • Are we accepting new patients?

    Yes.

  • What do I need to bring with me for my first appointment?

    Please have your driver’s license or identification card & all insurance cards with you. We will be making copies of them and will need them to process your payments. If you do not have insurance, please also bring a form of payment with you, such as a credit card.

  • How long should I expect my first appointment to take?

    Your initial appointment should take approximately 20 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill out paperwork.

  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?

    We ask that you call and cancel 24 hours in advance if possible.

  • Where in the building is the office located?

    We are located on the 3rd floor in suite 375

  • Do you have parking?

    Yes, we are located in a major medical center. There is plenty of outdoor parking. However, be prepared to walk on a busy day across the parking lot to the building entrance.

  • Do I need a referral from my general doctor to book an appointment?

    Only if your insurance requires it. Please contact your insurance company in advance to confirm.

  • How do I request a prescription refill?

    We ask that you first call the pharmacy for a refill. They will contact us if you do not have a refill available and once we look at your chart, we’ll determine if a refill can be given or if you need to follow up in office first.

  • Does Dr. Shipman treat for thyroid?

    Yes, at ShipmanWellness we treat a variety of different ailments, illness, and medical issues, including problems with the thyroid. Dr. Nolan Shipman uses many techniques for determining a treatment plan instead of only using basic test results for diagnosis.

  • I would like to use my insurance to pay for appointment, but it is confusing. How do deductibles, coinsurance and copays work?

    We understand how confusing the process can be and will do the work to get all the details for your payment. We will verify with your insurance about amounts for co-pays and deductibles and check your benefit coverage. We will collect what your plan states you are responsible for prior to seeing the doctor. Please feel free to ask us more at check in, prior to seeing the doctor.
